Title and Author: Alora: The Maladorn Scroll by Tamie Dearen

Reason for choice of rating:
several battles with injuries some of which are serious; several deaths; details are not graphic although blood and necessity for surgery, etc is mentioned
In the Alora series, the author has created characters that grow with each story. Tamie introduces new characters when appropriate but doesn't forget about the characters that I have grown to love (or hate as in the case of the bad guys).
I am thrilled with the development in Alora and Kaevin's relationship in "The Maladorn Scroll". So many other characters played important roles as well: Wesley, Beth, Jireo, Markaes, Uncle Charles and even Daegreth to name a few. I laughed a number of times regarding Dr. Sanders' increased role in the story. He has come a long way since his first appearance at the end of book 1.
Action continues to be very fast-paced with lots of danger and some deaths but injuries/deaths are not graphic in detail.
The soulmate bond is still vitally important in this book but Kaevin and Alora spent much of the book apart and Alora has learned to manage her power differently so there is less need for touching and kissing than in past books. However there are still a few sweet romantic scenes that remind the reader that Kaevin and Alora are still very much in love.
Each of the three books in the Alora series has kept me engaged in this wonderful story and wanting more. I can't wait for book 4 to come out and am already sad that it will be the last book.
Sex: A few sweet kisses, nothing inappropriate
Language: "bright" used in frustration a couple times
Violence: several battles with injuries some of which are serious; several deaths; details are not graphic although blood and necessity for surgery, etc is mentioned
Religion: God is discussed a couple times by various characters
Did you have a favorite character or least favorite character?
I still really like many of the side characters in the story but I felt that Alora has really matured and grown into herself and finally is feeling like a "star" of the story in book 3.
What mood did this book leave you in?
Excited to find out what happens next!
