Dragon's First Christmas by Emily Martha Sorensen

Very cute story. The Christmas tree doesn't make it though (not a spoiler since happens on the first page LOL!) The baby dragon Virgil captured my heart and the concept of being a parent to a baby dragon is totally intriguing and also totally scary. Just imagine this cute little baby that can breath fire during a tantrum!
This is a stand-alone short story that goes along with the two stories in the Dragon Eggs series. I definitely want to read the other books in this series.
One note about Rose and Henry, the parents of Virgil: Rose and Henry's relationship/marriage is somewhat odd. Rose is definitely an independent woman (wants to attend college and be a paleontologist) and Henry is rather chauvinistic (or so it seems) so they do not appear to be a well-matched couple. The book takes place in the 1920s so the chauvinism is probably an accurate reflection of the times. The relationship is not well-explored/explained in Dragon's First Christmas. I hope to learn more when I read the other books in the series.
Good for everyone but I think parents will enjoy it since it is about parenting (albeit a dragon LOL!)
Did you have a favorite character or least favorite character?
The baby dragon Virgil is adorable and seems so much like a human baby except that breathing fire bit LOL!
What mood did this book leave you in?
