It's that time of year! The time when we start looking for presents for all the awesomesauce people in our lives. But what do you get for your favorite author? Well, we asked the Fellowship of Fantasy authors what they wanted and why. Here are their responses:
Sarah Ashwood -
I would love some of the jewelry on you can have made with your own book covers. Who wouldn't love to wear their own book cover??
Morgan Smith -
New notebooks. I don't know a single writer who doesn't need a notebook, and the nicer it is, the more inspired they get.
Kristen S. Walker -
Please Do Not Annoy the Writer mug. Every writer needs a good mug for their writing beverage of choice (I prefer green tea). This one is also a fair warning to prevent interruptions of writing time.
Heather Hayden -
A time-turner. I have so many ideas for stories that I fear I'll never have time to write them all. A time-turner would give me more time to write!
Jessica L. Elliott -
Funny writer tee-shirts. Not only does it unashamedly proclaim your profession to the world, but other authors will totally understand! Zazzle has a host of good ones, but these are my favorite.
Lea Doué -
The Lord of the Rings Chess Set. Every writer needs to take a break from writing once in a while. This offers the added bonus of encouraging introverts to socialize with at least one other person.
Massaging Bed Rest. Writers are readers, too!
H. L. Burke -
A roomba. Less vacuuming means more time for writing and cats ride on them, which is epic.
A desk cat. A real cat preferably. There are a few hold out authors who do not like cats, but most acknowledge that cats and authors are really just the same finicky creature and embrace it. So something with a cat on it.
Piper Dow -
A printer that can print with black ink. I have to print up stories to write comments on for my writers' group, and currently have to get them printed at the library because my TWO printers refuse to print with black ink.
Tell us what's on your Christmas Wish List!
A blog about all things fantasy from the elements we all love to how to write it. Posts are from our very own Fellowship of Fantasy authors.
