All throughout May you can follow the hashtag #MayWeRead to answer fun reading related prompts. We did a shout out for responses towards the end of April so that we could put together some fun lists from our authors as well as some of our followers. You can read today's prompt responses below.
Favorite space, star, or sky themed book! (and why)
Icarus Hunt by Timothy Zahn: it's a space mystery. He keeps the reader guessing to the very end.
Kandi J Wyatt
The Gypsy Pearl by Lia London blew me away with the characters and the sci fi setting!
Katy Huth Jones
Oxygen by Randy Ingermanson and John Olson is my favorite space novel. It's a mission to Mars gone wrong, which I expected. But what I didn't expect was how the characters banded together to make it work, and then the surprise at the end! SO GOOD!!
Starship Troopers (life lessons, about war, growing up, and etc). Also the Homor Harrington series set in space (David Weber) because Homor is the kind of leader I want to be.
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles series, all of which are fantastic!) Amazing characters in creative sci-fi fairy tale retellings
A Hat Full of Sky by Terry Pratchett (It's really has very little to do with space/star/sky besides being in the title, but the first two Tiffany Aching books are great.)
Sky Raiders by Brandon Mull. So inventive, clever, and a crazy bunch of action and fantasy monsters included? Sign me up!
The Darth Vader comics when they are gathered into graphic novels. I love Star Wars and he's the main icon.
Perelandra by C.S. Lewis - because it gave me a new understanding of Eden/Sin/Redemption
A blog about all things fantasy from the elements we all love to how to write it. Posts are from our very own Fellowship of Fantasy authors.
